You Are Created With Purpose

Older students read a display once and move on. The take-a-card pocket is what turns this from decoration into something a student still has in their blazer pocket on a bad afternoon.

Students will be able to:

• Recite Psalm 139:14
• Name what Scripture says is true of them regardless of how a day went
• Explain the difference between what they achieve and who they are

Change the title and the printable letters regenerate to match it.

   Step 1 — Prepare the background

   Cover the board in a deep, plain colour. This board is mostly one large central image and it needs the space around it to be quiet.

   Step 2 — Add the title

   Small YOU ARE strip first, then CREATED WITH PURPOSE in the large letters beneath it. Check it reads from the far end of the corridor before you staple.

   Step 3 — Build the central image

   Join the four hand sheets behind the board, then centre the hand. Add the figure and the ring of light over it.

   Step 4 — Place the six truth cards

   Three down the left — known, made, called — and three down the right — loved, chosen, kept. Keep the two columns level.

   Step 5 — Add the verse strip

   Psalm 139:14 across the bottom, under the hand. Reference cards go beside the truth cards they belong to.

   Step 6 — Fit the take-a-card pocket

   Bottom right, at chest height for the year group that walks past most. A pocket above eye level does not get used.

7. 7

   Step 7 — Finish the border

   Ray border around the outside. Check the pocket is full before you leave.

What students do

1. Take a card from the pocket.
2. Keep it somewhere you will see it again — a blazer pocket, a pencil case, the inside of an exercise book.
3. Take another whenever you need one.

For the teacher: Refill it. An empty pocket on a display about being valued says the opposite of what the board says. Print the pocket sheets in a batch at the start of term.
