Cookies, and the things that work like them
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep, and hand back on your next visit. Browsers offer two close relatives — local storage, which keeps something until it is cleared, and session storage, which is forgotten when you close the tab. They do much the same job, so this page covers all three rather than pretending only cookies matter.
Most of what EasyLessonPlan keeps is there so the site works: staying signed in, remembering your theme, and holding a form you have not finished. It stays in your browser. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies, and there are no tracking pixels, social media widgets or embedded third-party content on this site.

The strictly necessary items are not a choice — without them you could not stay signed in, and we could not remember that you asked us not to use analytics. None of them is used to profile you or shared for advertising.
The optional one, and its limit
One item on that list is optional: session-id, used for the hosting platform's usage analytics. It is off unless you turn it on, and choosing "Reject optional" — or making no choice at all — leaves it off.
Being straight with you about how well we can enforce that. The analytics script belongs to our hosting platform and is added to the page before any of our own code runs, so we cannot stop it loading from inside the application. What we can do, and do, is remove its cookie: when analytics is not switched on, we delete it as the page loads and again every time you move to another page. So refusing means the cookie does not survive on your device, rather than the script never having run. The complete fix is to turn the platform's analytics off at source, and that is being pursued.
The lifetime of that cookie is set by the platform rather than by us, and we have not been able to confirm it, so the table says so instead of printing a number we would be guessing.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page — it is always there — or the button below. You can change a category at any time, or withdraw your choice altogether, which clears what we stored about it and asks you again.
We store only what is needed to act on your answer: which categories you chose, when, and which version of this policy you were shown. If we later use browser storage for a new optional purpose, that version changes and you will be asked again rather than carried over.
Your browser can also block or delete cookies and clear site data for this site, which overrides anything set here. Blocking everything will sign you out and stop the site remembering your choice, so you will be asked again on each visit.
